I want to share something with you! I put together a Twitter list of all 24 makers who have been featured on Maker of Habit so far and it's awesome. I've been checking it everyday because it helps me feel more connected to the maker community than my normal timeline. I highly recommend giving it a follow.

I saw Trecia talking on a podcast recently and immediately wanted to learn more about her work. And I'm so glad I did. Trecia has a really unique voice on Twitter, and it's working. I mean, 17k+ followers! And they are engaged too–it seems all her tweets are a hit.

My favorite thing about her work is how she's all about learning and bringing others along with her. She recently started a CSS community in February called Code Something Superb and it already has 400+ members. And they're not lurkers. This community is active, helping each other figure out those pesky CSS bugs and sharing resources for learning Flexbox.

She's a natural community builder that is just getting started. I'm excited to watch her trajectory.

3 Strategies that Trecia leverages in her work:

• 🙋 Asking questions - At least a few times a week, Trecia tweets out a thoughtful question about being a CSS developer. These get crazy engagement, and I think the key is that she asks about things that are hot topics in the developer world.

• 😂 Getting laughs - I don't if she's coming up with these herself or if she is leveraging a secret subreddit, but they are great. It's like a special developer brand of dad-joke. And her audience is here for it.

• ☀️ Transparency & Positivity - There's a lot of hard things about learning to code, and it's easy to get frustrated and give up. Trecia encourages others by sharing her own struggles in a positive light

In terms of habits, I asked Trecia what 3 habits changed her trajectory as a maker. Here's what she said 👇

3 Habits that Changed Trecia's trajectory:

• 💻 Learning to code- So my first habit is to learn a new skill because I personally found no use in sitting around and binge watching tv series and movies. I invested my time in high paying skills, which is coding. It's not easy but with motivation, its possible!

• 🤓 Always learn something new - Learning something new as a content creator is a very important skill and its the one skill I value. The more I learn, the more I know and that helps me as a content creator to share what I know with others and help those who are in the same journey as me grow

• 👩‍🎤 Getting out of my comfort zone - There are 3 things that I dislike: video calls, audio calls and talking to people who are strangers to me. And this year, I've done them all and they have opened up so many opportunities for me. So breaking out of my little cocoon was a blessing in disguise and it helped me grow professionally and personally
